SECRETARY'S REPORT-GENERAL MEETING JANUARY 21, 2008 

Members present: Jamie Alubaid, Matthew Bennett, Renee Bonick, Tricia Brunner, Wendy Diel, Neil Geiger, Todd Kunstman, Anne LeBouton, Gary LeBouton, Dawn Lemerond, Ron Lemerond, Mary Quick, Dan Stoller, Donna Swiecichowski, Theresa Thomas and Tracy VanZeeland.  Tricia Brunner brought a guest-Tracy Hansen.

 

The Meeting was called to order by President, Trish Brunner, at 12:50 p.m.

 

Trish Brunner asked for a motion to accept the secretary’s report as printed in the newsletter.  Matthew Bennett made a motion to accept the secretary’s report.  Anne LeBouton seconded the motion.  The motion carried with ayes.

Newsletter Editor – Gary LeBouton:  The deadline for the next newsletter is Friday, February 1, 2008.  Some members have expressed an interest in having hard copies sent to our paid advertisers.  Gary will be looking at the expense and cost.

 

Print Chair – Mike Kallies:  The print results from pre-state will be printed in the newsletter.  It will also be announced what type of print competition will be for our February meeting.

 

Secretary – Mary Quick:  Mary had nothing to report.

 

Treasurer – Renee Bonick:  Renee would like the checkbook to be audited by a CPA.  It will help when we file our taxes with the IRS this year.  You are less likely to be audited if a CPA does your audit before filing taxes.

 

President – Elect – Neil Geiger:  At the February meeting for the Foxes, our speaker will be Sheila Lock talking on business law.

Neil will be putting together a brochure of headshots, bios with dates and locations to be printed before our state convention in March. 

 

President – Trish Brunner:  Fun Night’s Theme is Homecoming. Please refer to the emailed newsletter for particulars as we wish to maintain secrecy about our homecoming plans and therefore are not posting the information on the website. We are asking for complete participation from members this year!!

 

Dawn Lemerond made a motion to accept the new board positions for the Foxes for 2008.  Todd Kunstman seconded the motion.  The ayes carried the motion.

 

Trish Brunner asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Dawn Lemerond made a motion to adjourn the meeting.  Anne LeBouton seconded the motion.  The motion was carried by ayes.

Secretary's Report November 19, 2007

The General Meeting was called to order –11:15 a.m. by President Trish Brunner.

 

President-Elect – Neil Geiger

January 6-8, 2008 is the PPA’s Imaging USA in Tampa, Florida.

 

January 21, 2008 will be FVPPA’s pre-state with Indianhead at the Best Western in Waupaca, Wisconsin.  KM Imaging will be hosting Jay Stock the next day.  They will have a winter seminar on the following day.

 

February 18, 2008 we will be having a meeting at 1951 restaurant which is next to the Rock Garden in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  The speaker is being confirmed and will be announced in a brochure or at pre-state.

 

March 7-11th, 2008 will be the state convention at the Marriott West in Middleton, Wisconsin.

 

April 21, 2008 will be our awards luncheon.  Our speaker will be Michael Barton talking on “Thinking Big on Promotions.”  It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

 

May 12, 2008 we will have Paul Rogers speaking on weddings at the Holiday Inn in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

 

September 15, 2008 we will be at the Golden Corral in Appleton, Wisconsin listening to Gerry Milton talking about how to do Church Directories.

 

October 19-20th, 2008 will be the fall convention at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

 

November 17, 2008 will be in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at the Oshkosh Hilton with Jackie Haggerty speaking on senior marketing.

When your Foxes membership renewal comes to your door, please fill out the questionnaire.  Let us know what type of speakers you want to hear and on what subjects.

 

Kathleen Caylor wanted everyone to know that the speakers who gave mini morning programs at the fall convention are available to speak for any affiliate in 2008.  Teri Shevy passed the message on.

 

Secretary – Mary Quick

Mary had nothing new to report.  She forgot to send the September 17, 2008 secretary’s report to the newsletter editor and webmaster.  Please look for two secretary’s reports in the next newsletter and on the website.  Sorry-oops!

 

Treasurer – Renee Bonick

Tracy Van Zeeland made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as printed in the newsletter.  Anne LeBouten seconded the motion.  The ayes carried the motion.

 

Print Chair – Mike Kallies

The print competition was down at the fall convention.  There were 25 folios compared to 36 the year before.  The print competition had 42 prints this year compared to 64 prints last year.  Nineteen prints scored 80 or higher this year.  Last year 17 prints scored 80 or higher.

 

Congratulations to Todd Kunstman for the people’s choice award for best male senior at the fall convention.

 

This month the print competition will be Weddings/Open.

 

There was discussion about print judging be done with images on a jump drive or on cd's to save money and get critiqued.

 

We will be trying that type of judging on February 18, 2008.  You may enter 2 prints for judging and 2 prints on a jump drive for critique only.

 

Mike wanted to know where we would get the monitor and computer to project this competition.  Tracy Van Zeeland will lend us her monitor.  Tracy will get a free meeting for the use of her monitor.  We will look into renting or seeing if the host site has equipment.

 

Jamie Al-Ubaidi would like to see the print competition rules on FVPPA website.

 

Dave Heilman makes a motion for Mike Kallies to purchase a case for $250.00 or less to haul print competition equipment around.  Dawn Lemerond seconds the motion.  The ayes carry the motion.

 

Newsletter Editor – Gary LeBouton

The next newsletter deadline is January 2, 2008.

 

New Business

Our affiliation with PPA must be filed by December 15, 2007.  Trish Brunner will call the PPA and ask where the paperwork is.

The meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.

The IRS is now asking all non-profits to file income tax forms. 

 

Print Chair – Mike Kallies

The print competition for November’s meeting will be Wedding/Open.  For the fall convention in Sturgeon Bay the WPPA used MATC students to help with print competition.

 

Newsletter Editor – Gary LeBouton

The next newsletter deadline is October 31, 2007.  We are looking for vendors to advertise in our newsletter.  Please let Gary know of any vendors who would be willing to advertise.

 

Treasurer – Renee Bonick

The checkbook balance in May was $9824.36.  The ending checkbook balance will be $8830.26.

 

Secretary – Mary Quick

Mary had nothing new to report.

 

President-Elect – Neil Geiger

Neil is busy checking on speakers.  Please let Neil know of any speakers you would like to hear.

The next meeting will be November 17, 2007 at Dennis and Judy Schwartz’s studio in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

 

Monday, January 21, 2008 will be our pre-state with Indianhead at Waupaca, Wisconsin.  KM Imaging is having a seminar with Jay Stock the next day.

 

For the Good of the Order

Sue Wolters had surgery and is doing much better.  Dennis Schwartz recently lost his mother.  Steve McCullough lost his job with Kodak.  Jerry Surges had a stroke.  Troxel Green is now working for Burrell.

Secretary's Report May 21, 2007

 

The meeting was called to order by President, Trish Brunner, at 12:55 p.m. 

 

Thank you to Lee Speaker for coming to speak to our organization.

 

Trish called for the approval of the Secretary’s Report as printed in the newsletter.  Anne LeBouton made a motion to approve the secretary’s report.  Dawn Lemerond seconded the motion.  Trish asked all in favor say aye.  The ayes carried the motion.

PRESIDENT – TRISH BRUNNER:  Trish announced that the upcoming speaker is Rick Trummer.  His program is entitled “You broke it, You Fix it!”

 

Steve Kemp has seen the program.  He said it was a very good program. 

 

PRESIDENT-ELECT – NEIL GEIGER:  Nothing to report.

 

SECRETARY – MARY QUICK:  Nothing to report.

 

TREASURER – RENEE BONICK:  We don’t keep credit cards on file.

 

NEWLETTER EDITOR – GARY LEBOUTON:  The deadline for the newsletter is August 31, 2007.  He has not had any email newsletters bouncing back.

 

PRINTCHAIR – MIKE KALLIES:  The next print competition will be Seniors/Open.

 

NEW BUSINESS:  Anne LeBouton wants our members to know that if a tree is hollow-cut the tree down before it falls on a car.

 

Ron Lemerond wants to remind our members to watch and check on the post office new guidelines for mailing.  Check with your post office before you send out a mailing or postcards.  There is information you can download or get at your local post office.

 

Kathleen Caylor says that the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce is doing health insurance pooling.  They have one pool filled.  Join the Chamber of Commerce for $300.00 and the insurance is $250.00 she received for a quote.  You must stay three years in the insurance company to get reasonable rate increases. 

 

PPA is working on health insurance.  Farmers and rural area small businesses are paying about $1000.00 a quarter.

Secretary's Report April 23, 2007

 

The General Meeting was called to order – 12:55 p.m. by President Trish Brunner.

 

Dennis Schwartz made a motion to accept the secretary’s report as printed in the newsletter and on the website.  Neil Geiger seconded the motion.  The ayes have it and the motion passes.

 

Treasurer’s Report-

Tim Hannagan made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as printed in the newsletter.  Jerry Surges seconded the motion.  The ayes have it and the motion passes.

 

President – Trisha Brunner

The next meeting of the Foxes will be at the Rock Garden in Green Bay.  The speaker will be Aletha Speaker.  This will be a PPA merited program for the members who would like to receive a merit.  The fee for non-members will be $50.00 if called in the Thursday before Monday, May 21, 2007.  It will be $70.00 at the door the day of the meeting.  For Foxes members it will be $25.00 if called in by Thursday, May 17th, 2007.  It will be $45.00 at the door with no reservation.  We will be making up the difference for the merit fee with our association money.

 

President-Elect – Neil Geiger

There are a lot of good programs scheduled for this year for the Foxes.  For September we will be having Rick Trummer speaking on, “If you broke it, you fix it!”   The Round Table will be at Dennis and Judy Schwartz’s studio in Plymouth.

 

Secretary – Mary Quick

I have nothing to report at this time.

 

Treasurer – Renee Bonick

She will be working with Neil Geiger to take over the laptop and the treasurer’s job.  She has nothing to report at this time.

Newsletter Editor – Gary LeBouton

The deadline for the next newsletter is Friday, May 11th, 2007.

 

Print Chair – Mike Kallies

The next print competition will be in May and will be Children/open.  September’s print competition will be seniors/open.  November will be weddings/open.

 

New Business

WPPA President Donna Swiecichowski wants to remind our members about the Fall Convention which will be at Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay.  The room rates are $89.00 instead of the usual rates of $150.-$170.00.  There are only 161 rooms available.  Please call and book your room at 1-877-746-0700.  Bruce Hudson will be speaking on Families.  Jessica Claire will be speaking on Weddings.  Beth Forester will be speaking on seniors.  There will be early bird sessions on Sunday and Monday.  The following people will be speaking on marketing/workflow/photography and sales:  Jim Buivid, Mary & Steve Guellers, Carl Caylor, Rick Trummer, Pat Cahill, Tad Meddaughs, Mary Mortenson, Donna Swiecichowski and Teri Shevy.

Sunday evening will be a beer and boil (fish boil).

Sunday, August 19th will be WPPA at a Brewer’s Game.  You need to talk to Tracy or Donna.

WPPA’s charity is Ann’s Hope.  There is an ad campaign you can get involved with.  The information is on the WPPA’s website.  Participating studios will be able to receive melanoma brochures for public awareness.  One person dies every hour.

WPPA wants to know more about their members.  There will be a questionnaire for our members to complete.  Home based verses store fronts will be part of the questions.  What are you in the WPPA for?  We are looking at college or tech school students to help compile information from the questionnaire to help you build your business.
